How Therapy Works

As a psychologist with ADHD myself, I am dedicated to providing a safe, supportive therapy environment for neurodivergent patients.

How it works:

  1. The first step is to book a free, 15-minute consult so that we can learn about your goals and make sure we’re a fit.

  2. From there, we’ll set up an intake appointment so we can understand your history and current challenges.

  3. Finally, we’ll embark on a therapy journey together. Each session will be a step towards understanding, healing, and empowerment.

Services

Cognitive behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • I use CBT to help you identify automatic negative thoughts that can hinder your goals and negatively impact your behaviors and emotions. I help my patients get better at detecting detrimental thoughts and then reframing them into self-serving ones that help them reach their life goals.

  • The results from therapy aren’t instant. You can’t ‘Amazon Prime’ hard work, but it is possible to sustainably and positively impact your thinking patterns.

Diagnostics

  • Through a process of thorough questioning and standardized measures, I can help clarify complicated diagnostic questions. Together, we’ll understand your symptoms, the best course of action, and a treatment plan. At times, an in-depth assessment may be recommended. Other times, diagnostic interviewing may be enough to determine what needs to be worked on.

I employ a very client-centered approach to therapy, knowing that everybody is at a different stage. I explain things in plain language so that you can understand your wonderful, complex brain. Helping you to connect to what’s happening is an essential step to managing symptoms and shifting perspective.
